Les Clefs d’Or Hungary reaches 30
Les Clefs d’Or Hungary celebrates the 30th anniversary of its foundation this year.
The association (founded: 1983) strives to promote outstanding professional activities on the part of its members, facilitate professional relations between members and the flow of professional information nurturing friendships that go beyond the professional field, and establish a broad range of contacts with Clefs d’Or associations abroad as well as other professional organizations. The full board of the Union Internationale des Concierges d’Hôtels (UICH) ‘Les Clefs d’Or’ headed by Emmanuel Vrettos, International President of the association, visited Hungary on the occasion of the anniversary.
During the 4-day event visitors took part in professional forums and meetings but we also had an opportunity to present the sights of Budapest, spicing the programme with cultural events.
The highpoint of their stay was on Saturday 9 November and the banquet arranged in the Corinthia Ballroom. The gala dinner was also attended by Viktória Horváth, Deputy State Secretary for Tourism at the Ministry for National Economy, and Ákos Niklai, Vice-president of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants, and patron for the evening. Our hotel was represented by Szabolcs Szabó.
Participants included foreign Clefs d’Or colleagues arriving from more than 20 countries, representatives of the tourism profession, hotel general managers and the Hungarian membership.
Guests were totally enchanted by the varied musical programmes, the superb cuisine and, naturally, the charming atmosphere of the Ballroom.
A quality publication sponsored by Funzine magazine was put together to mark the 30th anniversary and a 2008 Royal Cuvée wine was specially labelled for the occasion by Bock Winery.
One of the outstanding events of the evening was a birthday cake specially made for the jubilee. It was a compilation of all the previous and current ‘national cakes of Hungary’.
